Feature Overview
ProductPlan is transforming the existing “Opportunities” object into a more robust and versatile object now known as Initiatives to help define the big problems you’re solving and showcase the why behind your work. This change reflects a strategic evolution toward supporting larger, cross-functional, and long-term planning efforts across our user’s organizations. Initiatives will act as business cases for significant efforts that may span multiple teams, quarters, and validation phases before landing on a roadmap.
This release introduces new capabilities such as rich text editing, custom fields, date tracking, and enhanced connectivity visualization to elevate Initiatives into a powerful tool for discovery, validation, prioritization, and strategic alignment.
What’s Included
- Rebranded Opportunity Object: The object is now called “Initiative” to reflect its broader purpose
- Refreshed UI: We’ve updated the UI to better showcase the story around the biggest problems you’re solving
- Rich Text Editor: Format content, add links, and structure initiative documentation like a business case
- Custom Fields: Tailor initiatives with organization-specific metadata
- Date Fields: Track expected start/end dates to empower prioritization decisions
