Connect Bars to More than One Objective

What’s the ability to connect bars to more than one objective?

Customers will now have the ability to connect a roadmap bar or container to more than one objective in the Strategy module. This update removes the limitation of assigning a bar or container to just one objective. You’ll now have a more accurate representation of how work (each bar and container) supports different strategic goals.

How does the connection between multiple objectives work?

Customers will connect objectives and roadmap items just as they do today. This can be done in any of the roadmap views (list, timeline and/or table). The dropdown selector will be identical to how users interact with multi-select custom fields. Bars and containers can be added from each of the objective pages, as well.

Why multiple objectives to a single bar?

We want to ensure there is accurate strategic alignment. With every piece of work being done, the ability to link that single piece of work to multiple objectives provides a clearer picture of how each teams’ efforts contribute to the company’s goals. This enhancement gives each user a true reflection of how each work item’s strategic importance impacts multiple areas of the business.
